§ 2-120. City treasurer.

  • The city treasurer shall receive all moneys due the city, or by law payable to him, and receipt for such moneys. He shall allocate such moneys to the city's respective funds, make daily deposits of such moneys in the city's depositories designated by the city council, and see that such deposits are adequately secured by deposit insurance, surety bonds or investment securities. The city treasurer shall be the custodian of all fidelity bonds required to be executed by the city council, and all evidences of indebtedness owned by the city. In addition to the duties specified in this section, he shall perform all other duties required of him under the charter or this Code or under the laws of the state.
