§ 4-26. Definition.

  • (a)

    The term "pool hall," for purposes of this article shall mean any room of any description in which two or more pool tables are operated for the purposes of playing pool, billiards or pocket billiards, and which is conducted as a public place of business for profit.

    (b)

    This subsection shall not apply to organizations of veterans chartered by Congress or organized and operating on a state-wide or nation-wide basis, Young Men's Christian Associations, Young Women's Christian Associations, Boys' Clubs, public recreation centers, or fraternal organizations having a national charter.

    (c)

    Public place shall be defined as any establishment that is open for business to the general public. For the purposes of this article, establishments that sell or issue memberships to patrons shall constitute a public place of business.
