§ 7-64.1. Demolition within a national register historic district.

Latest version.
  • (a)

No building or structure within any of the city's national register historic districts shall be demolished or otherwise removed until the owner thereof shall have given the historic preservation commission ninety (90) days' written notice of this proposed action. If the historic preservation commission finds that the building involved has no particular historic significance or value toward maintaining the character of the national register historic district, it may reduce all or part of such ninety-day period and authorize earlier demolition or removal.

    (b)

For the purposes of this section the boundaries of the national register historic districts shall include the ten national register historic districts as of October 3, 2000, and as amended from time to time, but such boundaries shall exclude the historic district (H-A) overlay zones as amended by the council from time to time. A copy of the national register historic district map is on file with the Salisbury Planning Office.
