§ 9-22. Use of personnel or firefighting apparatus outside city.

  • Neither the personnel of the fire department nor the fire department's firefighting apparatus shall be used for fighting fire beyond the corporate limits of the city, except as follows:

    (1)

    Where it becomes necessary to protect property within the city from fires occurring outside of the city.

    (2)

    Where agreements, authorized by the city council, have been entered into to afford the city standby fire protection to county property and the properties of business and industry located beyond the corporate limits of the city, but only to the extent of the provisions of such agreements.

    (3)

    Where mutual aid agreements, written or by usage and custom established, have been entered into by the city and its neighboring cities and towns.
