§ 23-53. Investigation of applicant.

  • (a)

    The police department shall conduct an investigation of each applicant for an initial or renewal permit under this article. Such investigation is to determine:

    (1)

    The accuracy of information within the application.

    (2)

    Whether the applicant meets the qualifications required in this article.

    (3)

    Whether there is any basis to refuse a permit.

    (b)

    A record of such investigation and a copy of the traffic and criminal record of the applicant, if any, shall be forwarded with the application for review by the chief of police.
