§ 7-63. Bond.

  • No permit for the moving, demolition or razing of any building or structure shall be issued unless the applicant therefor shall first file with the revenue collector a bond in the principal sum of not exceeding two thousand dollars ($2,000.00), the exact amount of which shall be determined by the city manager or his designee in each instance, guaranteeing that such building or structure will be moved, demolished or razed level with the ground and that all building materials, debris or other residue remaining from moving, demolition or razing of such building or structure will be removed from the premises upon which such building or structure was located within twenty (20) days following razing. If, after twenty (20) days following such moving, demolition or razing, the building materials, debris or other residue have not been removed from such premises, the minimum housing inspector shall cause the materials to be removed from such premises and the cost of such removal shall be satisfied out of such bond required to be filed; provided, however, that the provisions of this section shall not apply to building materials from a structure which are to be used in the construction of a new building or structure on the premises upon which the original building or structure was located, if the construction of such new building or structure shall be commenced within thirty (30) days following the moving, demolition or razing of the original building or structure.
